What is Trunk or Treat?

Originally started by church groups with the aim of providing a safer environment for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Trunk or Treat involves a community coming together in a parking lot, either on the Halloween or shortly before, so that children can trick-or-treat out of the decorated trunks of cars.

When is the Trunk or Treat event held?

Mount Carmel UMC hosts our annual “Trunk or Treat” on the last Saturday before Halloween.

Where is the Trunk or Treat held?

It occurs at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church at 2203 Harmonyville Rd., Elverson, PA 19520 in the parking lot. In the case of inclement weather, the event will move inside the church.

How do I participate?

If you are a trick or treat person, just come to the event.  One of the church members will be glad to help you get situated and enjoy the safe alternative to traditional trick or treating.

If you would like to be involved in handing out “treats” from your own trunk, contact Renee at 484-520-6263. She will fill you in on the details needed like decorations, restrictions, and reserving a spot. We ask that you plan to be at the church with your decorated trunk by 4:00 p.m.

Trunk participants will automatically be entered in the contest for the “Best Decorated Trunk”.
