Goodworks PA – St Peters

Local mission outreach opportunity first Saturday of each month.

The Mount Carmel Congregation serves monthly with other congregations in the area to provide decent housing to disadvantaged families in Northern Chester County.

GoodWorks is a Christian nonprofit based in Saint Peters serving low-income homeowners in Chester County.  Our vision is to eliminate substandard housing in the areas we now serve – Saint Peters Village, Coatesville, West Chester, and Phoenixville.  On the first and second Saturdays of each month, volunteers meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Coatesville Good Works shed, located at 82 Pearl Alley to work for the day on homes in need of repair.  Good Works workday staff, who are also volunteers, organize the work, plan for the needed materials, and accompany each group to the homes needing work.  Applicants who have been approved by our agency receive repair services on their homes free of charge.  Our slogan is “warmer, safer, drier” and our primary work involves repairs on windows, roof repair, plumbing repair and replacement of floor, walls, ceilings, etc. damaged by water or plumbing leaks.  A lunch is prepared and served by volunteers and the work continues after lunch, ending about 3:30 p.m.  All tools and supplies are provided and our volunteers even teach people how to do what is needed!  Workday staff remains in the home the entire time working beside the volunteers; you are never left on your own and there will always be someone to help you if you are unsure how to proceed.   For more information, check out the website www.goodworksinc.org.

Meet at the church the 1st Saturday of each month at 8:45am or meet us at the Goodworks shed in St. Peters Village. Please sign-up so Goodworks can plan for us!
